This Privacy Policy explains how EdVerse AI ("we", "us", "our", or "the App") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application. By using EdVerse AI, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
a. Account Information
When you sign up, we may collect your email address and display name through Firebase Authentication (email/password or Google Sign-In). You can also choose to continue as a guest using anonymous sign-in, in which case no personal identity information is collected.
b. Study Content You Provide
To generate quizzes and explanations, you may upload chapter photos, images, or typed notes. This content is processed to create your learning material. Camera and photo access is only used when you actively choose to upload content.
c. Usage & Progress Data
We store learning-related data such as your XP, streaks, quiz results, achievements, and leaderboard standing to power the App's features.
d. Push Notification Token
If you enable notifications, we store a device push token so we can send you streak reminders and study-room updates. You can disable notifications at any time from your device settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To generate AI-based quizzes, explanations, and flashcards from your content.
- To save your progress, XP, streaks, and leaderboard position.
- To send optional reminders and study notifications.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the App.
- To keep the App secure and prevent misuse.
3. Third-Party Services
We rely on trusted third-party services to run EdVerse AI. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their functionality:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Messaging) — account, progress, and notification data.
- Google Sign-In — optional login.
- AI processing services — the text or images you submit are sent to an AI service to generate quizzes and explanations.
Your use of these services is also subject to their respective privacy policies.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We only share data with the service providers listed above, or when required by law. Aggregated, non-identifying information (such as anonymous leaderboard names) may be visible to other users.
5. Data Retention
We keep your account and progress data for as long as your account is active. Uploaded chapter content is used to generate your study material and is not retained longer than necessary for that purpose. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 8).
6. Children's Privacy
EdVerse AI is designed for students. We do not knowingly collect more personal data than necessary from children. If you are under the age required by your local laws, please use the App with the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal information without consent, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures, including secure authentication and encrypted connections, to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
You can access, update, or delete your account information at any time from within the App or by contacting us. To request full deletion of your data, email us at the address below.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised policy.
